Round 3

Hi Everyone!

It's been a long time since I've posted to the blog....but it's been quiet in So. Maryland!

As most of you know, Jeff has been doing extremely well...no blood sugar problems...no chemo since last spring and no more surgery since last summer. He has been healing, working, traveling (some) and getting life back to something more normal than the first half of last year.

In April we took a FABULOUS vacation to Arizona - Jeff showed us the desert and all the homes and schools he grew up in. There was swimming, horseback riding, and an ATV desert tour ... not to mention shopping......and lots of sleeping in. We had a blast!

Brit and Brad have gotten their driver's licence, taken part time jobs so that they have a little spending money and started their senior year of high school a few weeks ago. Jeff is still working at General Dynamics IT (formerly Anteon) and keeping busy with Doug, Jim, Gina, Chris, Tim....and the rest of the gang. I'm still busy at Civista and the construction project is coming to a close soon (yea!).

For those of you who don't know, Jeff is scheduled for his 3rd round of chemotherapy on Monday...his birthday (YUK!). Outside of a slightly elevated insulin level and some pain on his right side, there have been no other symptons. The great doctors at NIH want to get the chemo done early before things get out of control like they were early last year. We are not sure if it will be two procedures or four so we'll take it one day (or week) at time.

As always, I'll post to the blog daily while Jeff is in the hospital and at least weekly while he is recooperating. Please be sure to add your comments - I read them all to Jeff when he doesn't feel like being social ...it does a wonderful job of lifting his spirits.

Stay tuned!

Linda

Happy Birthday Jeff. We sure miss you and I for one wish we still lived closer to each other. I miss you man! I wish you the best for your Birthday/Monday and the days to come as we grow older. Although not living close to each other like the old days, I'm still there as your Best Man and Friend. You have the best family a Man could ask for and I'm sure they are proud you are their Father/Husband. Please be safe and well and keep the faith.

Love, Ronny, Cindy and Austin Fort
